My name is Diara Springer and I’m from the gorgeous island of Barbados. One thing I love about the Caribbean is our rich and vibrant festivals which connect us to our past. My region is currently being affected by rising sea levels, increasingly severe hurricanes and scorching temperatures due to climate change.

 

 

I care about this because I fear that my people’s ability to gather and celebrate our culture and traditions are at risk of disappearing in the future. I envision a future where my community is able to continue celebrating our rich heritage.
